8.5x11

CONTENTS:
  • Norfolk Troop of Horse -- Norfolk, VA 1795
  • Charleston Light Dragoons -- Charleston, SC 1855
  • Native American Battalion -- New Orleans, LA 1841 (two prints)

DESCRIPTION:
"Old South Guards" set of military uniform prints, illustrated by W.T. Dickey and sold as a mail-order promotion in the 1950's by Southern Comfort. Apropos of the seller, the packaging envelope lushly recalls the "lavish days" of these antebellum Southern gentlemen, as well as the histories and "brilliant dress" of their respective militia units. The original advertising folio had four different prints. This listing has four prints, but two are the same. The "Native American Battalion" print is duplicated and the "Lexington Light Infantry" print is missing.

Condition:
The prints are in good condition with some wear around the corners (see scans for details). One of the prints has some dirt and markings in the upper right hand corner. The folio itself is intact but with some small tears and wear.
