"Indian Rock Inn at the base of Palisades cliffs along Delaware River, built by Jacob Krouse in 1820, has a long history. John Derr, owner from 1837 to 1854, expanded the Rising Sun Hotel for lodging. Mathias Lehman renamed it the Narrowsville Hotel in 1854. A well-known resort in the late 1890s and early 1900s, vacationers from Philadelphia came by train to Jersey Central Power's Gilbert Station. Crossing the river by boat, they continued across the canal bridge to the hotel. "    (Attribution: http://books.google.com/books?id=8ItK88mQUuYC&pg=PA45&lpg=PA45)
